How to wear your LBD (little black dress), according to vogue.it
Vogue.it is one of our go-to sites for fashion AND curvy fashion. In fact, they have regular fashion tips for the current season, so you can always stay inspired and beautiful. Here’s their latest post, appropriately titled ‘Lime’, which we loved.
The LBD is a girl’s best friend, and one of your best investment pieces. Why? Because it’s so versatile, personalize-able, and both classic and sexy at the same time. A great summer twist is to wear it with colored heels, like the lime wedges pictured here. But, it can be just about any hue (think cobalt, emerald, pink, yellow, neon) since black is THE neutral foundation. When the weather gets chilly, then add a blazer, leather, patent, or a knit, and make this dress work for you!
Check out our selection of LBD’s at Posh Shoppe’s Little Black Dress Shoppe and find one to love over and over…

We love our bloggers! Crystal Chanel, Plus Size Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger

To quote from her about page: “A 26 year old fatshionista, mother of one from Charlotte, NC, and a lover of everything glamorous who breathes, walks, and talks fashion.  She believes strongly that confidence is key and is the best accessory to any outfit. Her blogs include posts about fashion, DIY projects, food, fitness tips, beauty products, and natural hair.”

Check out how she styled our lace inset body suit with pop hues. A great combination with old and new, as she paired our top with a vintage Dior jacket (looove!)

We’re honored to be the topic of her first vlog post. We especially loved how she transformed our cross-over coral dress in to three different looks! And hurry, as she has an exclusive coupon code that will expire soon.

COLOR THEORY: COBALT BLUE

Did anyone get the note that cobalt blue is a cool hue for SP/SU 2012? We saw it on the runways, and here’s collection of cobalt sightings on celebs. This rich hue pairs well with gold, silver, or even neon accents, which makes it versatile for day or night. Pair it with a white blazer, and your favorite pumps! Check out our cobalt tribute in our classic off the shoulder dress, colorblock dress, cut out dress, or flirty flutter dress!

How will you wear it?

Celeb Style: Harem Pants

These roomy at the hips and fitted at the leg pants are a dressy and hip alternative to your skinny jeans, as styled so tastefully on these celebs. Kim wore hers with a simple white blouse, tucked in, and with her pants pulled higher at the leg. Or try it with a loose, shorter chiffon top like Beyonce. Wear them with a fitted jacket and strappy heels like JLo did this past week.  Styling key: PLAY WITH PROPORTIONS! If you are wearing a baggier bottom, they give shape and definition to your top, or your wrists and ankles with bangles and sexy shoes. How are you going to wear yours?

INSPIRED BY: Rihanna, Rude Boy

We love the island and pop art influence in the graphics and styling of Rihanna’s Rude Boy video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e82VE8UtW8A. Get inspired by her graphic gold and black leggings, a similar pattern used in our jumpsuit and romper.

Who knew that sporty chic could be so sexy and fun? Evidently Michael Kors had a hunch. Of his resort 2012 collection, Style.com wrote: “A long holiday in Australia inspired Michael Kors’ Resort collection, a very signature sporty/sophisticated mix of fluorescents, zebra prints, and scuba-influenced silhouettes…”
We loved what we saw, and here is our wallet-friendly tribute. Featuring key elements like neon, animal print, and streamlined contours, you can complete your look with major shades and strappy flats like on Kor’s models.

How many times can we say “Pattern Play!”? Yes, go for it, those wild printed leggings/jumpsuit, or that neon printed dress. Why? One reason is because Beyonce says so. Take styling cues from her printed colorful outfits, by playing with proportions (fitted with fluid), or combining prints with solids for balance.

SPORTY CHIC

This is fashion’s tribute to the surf industry, sunny California, and everything cool about being tomboy. High-fashion designers such as Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Cavalli, and Alexander Wang  had sporty chic looks on their Spring/Summer 2012 runways. See how we were inspired in our collection, with our neon hues, streamlined shapes, cut-outs, and texture mash-ups.

CUT OUTS

Designers are cutting into their garments, and adding sheer texture, or simply letting some skin peek through. But, there is something in common— that is, cut outs are not about revealing, but rather accentuating shape, and simply alluding to what’s beneath. How is that for true sexiness?

We are proud to feature sheer, cut out looks as well, that compliment and celebrate the woman’s shape: Retro Mod Mesh Back Plunge Front Dress, Sheer Sweetheart Faux Leather Mini, Retro Mod Puff Sleeve Dress with Mesh Cut Out LBD, Neon Print Halter Dress with Bandage and Mesh Details.

We love this clip from Vogue. It! Filmed and styled especially for plus size women. Take spring styling cues from this clip, such as color blocking (look 1), texture (look 2- sequins!), and pattern play (look 3). Of course, looking this good does not require a ticket to Italy and spending all your euros; Find similar looks for less!
